Frequently asked questions
With CVS Same-Day Delivery service, you can place an order in the CVS Pharmacy® app or on CVS.com and get your favorite CVS items delivered in as little as three hours. The items are delivered from a local CVS store through a trusted courier partner.
Orders must be placed four hours before the store’s closing time, or by 8 PM for 24 hour stores. If you order outside of these hours, we will deliver the following day.
Currently, most items are eligible for CVS Same-Day Delivery. Some temperature-controlled, age-restricted and oversized items are not currently eligible. By limiting certain items, we can ensure you have the best CVS Same-Day Delivery experience.
CVS Same-Day Delivery Service is currently available in most areas. Find out if CVS Same-Day Delivery is available by entering your delivery address on the “Change your store” upper left section on CVS.com.

Ordering process
You can place your same-day delivery order at CVS.com® or in the CVS Pharmacy app by selecting “same-day delivery” on the “How to get it?” section on the product page. This can be done before or after selecting your desired items.
Yes, a minimum order total is required for Same-day delivery. You will see the amount needed to reach basket minimum when you add products to your shopping cart. Minimum order is calculated after coupons, promotions and discounts are applied.
Yes, you can select CVS Same-Day Delivery for certain items and CVS Same-Day Delivery, pickup and shipping for others. Minimum purchase amounts and fees for same-day delivery may be different from pickup and regular shipping.
If an item in your order is out of stock, we can shop for something similar. Out-of-stock items will not be automatically substituted. You must opt into substitutions before you submit your same-day delivery order. When you opt in, you may choose to substitute:
- All available items, or
- Each item, based on the backup options presented
You’ll never be charged more than your original order. If any of your items were substituted, remember to check the ingredients lists to make sure they're right for you. If you are not happy with your substitution, you may return the item to the store. Not all items are available for substitution. If a substitution is not available, the item will be removed from your cart and you will not be charged.
The out-of-stock item will be refunded and the remaining items in your order will be delivered. You will get back any coupons, promotions or ExtraBucks Rewards® you used for your purchase. The delivery fee for your order will be refunded.
Price, loyalty & promotions:
Yes, the fee for CVS Same-Day Delivery will be shown when you add products to your shopping cart.

Yes! With CVS Same-Day Delivery you can earn ExtraBucks Rewards on the value of your purchased items. ExtraBucks Rewards do not apply towards the delivery fee. To earn ExtraBucks Rewards when using CVS Same-Day Delivery, link your ExtraCare® account to your CVS.com or CVS Pharmacy app account.
Yes! With CVS Same-Day Delivery, you can redeem ExtraBucks Rewards for the value of your purchased items. You cannot redeem them for the delivery fee. To redeem ExtraBucks Rewards when using CVS Same-Day Delivery, redeem rewards at checkout on CVS.com or in the CVS Pharmacy app.
Once you submit your order, we will place a hold on your payment account for one day. If the delivery isn’t successful, we’ll cancel the order and will issue a refund by your same method of payment. Your original payment could remain pending with your bank for up to 14 days, depending on your bank’s policies.
Prices of items available for delivery may not always match local store prices. You'll see item prices before you place your order.
Certain states and local municipalities charge bag fees to encourage the use of reusable bags. Bag fees may vary by city, county or state. A 50¢ hold will be added to all orders placed in stores that must apply a bag fee. This charge will be updated accordingly based on local laws and the total number of bags used to pack your order. The final order total will be charged when the delivery driver picks up your order.
Delivery process:
If our trusted courier partner cannot deliver your order, we will refund your order and any applicable delivery fee back to you by your same original method of payment.
Yes! Make sure to enter the recipient’s name and delivery address so the order can be correctly delivered.
Once you place your order, you will receive email and/or SMS notifications, if you opted in, when
- Your order is confirmed
- Your order is on the way
- Your order is delivered
You do not have to be home to receive or sign for your order. Our trusted courier partner will leave your order at your doorstep.
Cancelations & returns:
Most new, unopened items purchased from CVS Pharmacy® can be returned to any CVS Pharmacy store with a receipt within 60 days of purchase for a refund. Visit our Return Policy page for details.
Due to the nature of this service, the ability to cancel a same-day delivery order is limited once that order is placed. However, you can call Customer Care at 1-800-SHOP CVS (1-800-746-7287) as soon as possible, but once the order has been picked up by one of our delivery partners it can no longer be canceled.
Yes. Bring the items you want to return to your local CVS Pharmacy location and show the barcode in the email you received.
