The active gel pads absorb excess liquid from the wound and have thick cushioning that redistributes pressure from the blister to deliver instant pain relief. They are form-fitting with tapering edges, and fit like a second skin. These pads are waterproof, hypoallergenic, breathable, durable, and flexible, so they can stay in place for several days, even during showers and exercise. No, there is no 'active' or 'medicinal' ingredient contained in Compeed® Blister Cushions. However, they are made using hydrocolloid - an active gel that contains particles that absorb excess wound liquid. The dressing swells to form what appears to be a white bubble, creating a shock-absorbent layer that protects the wound from further rubbing. The hydrocolloid in Compeed® Blister Cushions acts as a second skin to maintain the natural moisture levels, allowing fast wound healing with no scab and therefore reducing the risk of scarring. The shape is ideal for blisters on heels, but they can also be used on the sides of feet, toes, fingers, palms of hands, etc. Compeed® Blister Cushions are designed to fit like a second skin. They are made with a polyurethane film which is flexible, waterproof, and allows the skin to breathe. The tapered shape ensures optimal adherence so the Compeed® Advanced Blister Care Cushions stay in place for several days, providing instant pain relief, long-lasting protection, and faster healing. To apply: Clean and dry skin before use, ensuring the blister area is free of creams and oils. Remove the bottom paper. Do not touch the adhesive side. Apply the cushion firmly over the blister, ensuring the edges are firmly smoothed down against the skin. Leave in place until it starts to detach around the edges on its own. It may stay on for up to several days while the blister heals. To remove the cushion before it detaches itself, do NOT pull upwards. Instead, slowly stretch along the skin. If desired, baby oil or warm water can be used to help remove it.
