    Great Product

I purchased this item over 4 years ago. It is on its' 5th winter season now and still working like a charm. Easy to use and good quality. Just perfect for a small room or large two story home.

    Best Price/Performance

This is the best humidifier - I have tried them all from $12 vaporizers (no controls), $30 -$50 Holmes (hated them, noisy etc. bad design), to $200 ventas, And this CVS humidifier is the best. It's the quietest, you can control it with two settings - if it's real cold outside and your heat is cranking, drying out the place, put it on high - otherwise put it on low - This one is easy to fill, easy to clean - and I don't think it leaks - I think it's spillage not leakage, and I just put it in a plastic box and don't have to worry about any spills. Friends have got it and agreed. I've been using it for 4 years - still working great and have gotten two more for rest of house. I hope they keep making them.

    3 years and kicking

I am surprised to see all the bad reviews for this humidifier. My mom purchased this for me when I was sick two winters ago, to help me keep warm in my freezing steam-heated apartment. I had a very good one prior to moving out, but I accidentally broke that one while cleaning it so I needed a replacement. I was very skeptical, but for half the size of my old model (made by HOLMES) it started faster, and ran longer. I have since used it every winter to keep warm, and to keep my throat from getting dry at night, and the only reason I even found these reviews is because I was looking to buy my girlfriend one now that she is sick. The only leaks I've had were due to me knocking it over and not screwing the lid on right.

    Leaky

I bought this product last year when I was having allergy and sinus problems. It worked good the whole time I used it last year. I followed the cleaning instructions and cleaned it before storing it. I unpacked it from the box and started using it this year. It worked fine the first week but by the third week it began to leak while it was turned off. At first I thought it had not been closed properly so I opened it and made sure that it was closed but it leaked again. Fortunately I had placed a towel under it to keep it from sliding around on the box I had it on. I tried washing it again to make sure there was no build-up around the lid and the valve that dispenses the water. It is still leaking. I will be replacing it with a name brand product that will most likely last for more than a year.

    Leaky

After 5 uses this unit started leaking badly and ruined the corner of a bureau and a section of my hardwood floor. Also the filler cap being on the bottom of the tank is very inconvenient. And that cap is very hard to get on and off. Now I have to go buy a name brand humidifier on top the of the money I spent on this one. Don't buy it. And by the way, one star is the lowest rating, you can't give a review with no stars or I would have done so.

    Worked good

The problem with the product is tthe design, the filler in on the bottom therefore the cap has to be very tight, almost like a thermas bottle. It is very hard to unscrew the filler lid, infact I had to make a handle to help open the cap, my wife just can not get it open it is so hard. The product works fine but it would have been better is the filler was on the top, there is plenty of room. I am taking it back to the store today as it is just to big of a hassle.

    2 Weeks til Wet Ceiling

We picked up this humidifier because it wasn't too expensive, had a good sized tank, which did last all night on high, and had a spot for Vicks or CVS "Vapor Steam". It worked well and was easy enough to maintain until i started seeing green spots about the size of a half dollar apparently left over from the "Vapor Steam" so we stopped using that. Then my girlfriend asked me what the yellow spot on the ceiling was. It was in our bedroom and the exact shape of the humidifier. There is no plumbing that runs through our bedroom floor there. I thought maybe we just set it up wrong and tried again last night, this time on a deeply indented lid from a storage container. The lid was full of water to the point where I couldn't carry it to the bathroom 10 feet away, maybe half a gallon. We broke the machine down and did not find a crack anywhere, tank, the area the water flows into, the insert in that are or even the back of the humidifier that comes off. Bottom line, avoid this device, it isn't worth the $40 we spent and now we're going to go spend $60 on a Vicks that hopefully will work longer than 2 weeks.
