Love the lower price for strips
I've had the Freestyle Neo for a few days now. So far I have not had issues with getting readings. One thing I noticed it does not beep when it has enough blood. You look for three bars on the meter. For me, while this is different it is not that big of a deal. I like the fact the strips are individually sealed. No more worrying when I opened the bottle. I have had issues with the other meters giving me readings when there wasn't enough blood (the readings were all over the map). This so far has not been an issue with the Freestyle Neo.0 users found this review helpful. - Yes, I recommendFishfinderReviewed 9 years ago
Great price and slim!
On a fixed income, I LOVE this product! Very accurate! Makes it easy to carry as it's small and slim. Strips fit in my pocket and are each wrapped individually. Don't have to worry about messing them up. No more carrying a bottle of strips! Now I can afford to test twice a day now instead of once!0 users found this review helpful. - SimonLReviewed 9 years ago
Consistently Inacurate
First of all, I love the design of the meter. That is where the positives end. The VA has me use a Freestyle Freedom meter, and they pull readings off of it, but they will only pay for two strips a day, so I use another meter for most of my readings. When I got this meter, I decided to run some test with it because I am a diabetic nerd. I grabbed my Relion Prime, CVS Advanced, Freestyle Freedom, and Precision Neo meters. I ran three test with each meter using the same blood sample. This meter was consistently 18-20% lower than the others. The others were all within 10% of each other. I than decided to use the respective control solutions. It was the same results. I repeated the same test the next day, and they were all within the same ranges. I know that 20% is still technically within the acceptable range, when it comes to the Government standards, however it is barely within the range. I expected more from the Freestyle brand. Overall, I am disappointed and will not purchase any more strips for this meter. I still think that the CVS Advanced meter has the right balance of value and accuracy. As far as the Precision Neo, it is a no go.0 users found this review helpful. - Curtis66Reviewed 9 years ago
Does not give accurate readings
Both my wife and I have the FreeStyle Lite glucose meters but now that I am on Medicare and oral medications for type II diabetes Medicare will only cover the tests strips for it every three months so when I saw this new one advertised I was excited to try it since it is made by the same company but with much cheaper strips. I tested it against mine and my wife's FreeStyle Lite meters and it failed miserably. My FreeStyle Lite measured 96 and my wife's measured 100. The FreeStyle Precision Neo measured 122 on the first strip I tried and 156 on the second strip. It also took 3 strips to get 2 readinsg with it as one strip produced an error reading. The blood sample need for these strips is also significantly larger than what the FreeStyle Lite needs. I will be trying to return this one.0 users found this review helpful.
