How to get it

This product is very frustrating.
This is the worst thermometer I have ever used. You have to read the directions every time you use this thermometer in order to remember how to take a temp, read a temp, etc. Typically you are taking a temp when dealing with sickness so this should be EASY and stress-free. The cost of this product is sorely inflated given it's lack of ease of use. I STILL cannot get it to function correctly.0 users found this review helpful. - Yes, I recommendKenRReviewed 8 years ago
READ DIRECTIONS
This is my second one. Like many others reviewing this product, "It goes on, then immediately turns off". I was frustrated and took it back to CVS. They were nice enough to replace it. Well.... when I read the directions on the new one, I found that you must wait for the second beep after the hour glass is done (the screen goes dark). Hold it on a temple. Wait 4-5 seconds for the third beep. Then it works as it should. To find the memory, from off, hold the button for about 3 seconds. I hope this helps someone.0 users found this review helpful. - John1963Reviewed 9 years ago
Junk pure and simple
I spent the extra money on this product to ensure that I was getting a quality product that I can rely on. I put it in my medicine cabinet and did not need it for many months. When I got the flu and needed the thermometer I found that it does not work. I tried everything. It beeps, the display comes on but it simply will not display a temperature reading EVER. I should note that I am an electronics engineer by trade, so I am very good with using gadgets like this.0 users found this review helpful. - Yes, I recommendRobinLReviewed 9 years ago
works great very easy
I purchased this temple thermometer to replace a ear thermometer I had for 25 years. I wanted a new one before we needed it. It is so easy to use I didn't even need to read the direction to figure it out. Push the button to turn it on wait for the beep put to temple push button 6 to 10 seconds it will beeps again & done. Can even be used if someone is sleeping (like a baby) Also I think this is better than the ear thermometer if a child has an ear infection you don't have to touch their sore ear. Highly recommend $29.99 may be pricey for some people but the ear thermometers cost a lot more. Worth the price.0 users found this review helpful. - bailey154Reviewed 9 years ago
Does not work
Just wasted a half hour. This product does not work. I even tried changing the batteries. No readings. It's garbage - I will be returning it for a refund.0 users found this review helpful. - Mary64Reviewed 10 years ago
Works Intermittently
This product is unreliable. The thermometer will not take temperature at times. However, I have found that if you remove BOTH batteries and reinsert them the thermometer sometimes work. You may have to repeat procedure several times. I am not sure if leaving the batteries out for a longer period may help.0 users found this review helpful. - Yes, I recommendKylaReviewed 10 years ago
Great thermometer!
Compact, easy to use. The directions are a bit confusing. Turn it on.....wait for it to stop beeping, apply the thermometer to temple area (no hair in the way)........wait for it to beep, that is the temp!!! Very easy and accurate!0 users found this review helpful. - Yes, I recommendnitinReviewed 10 years ago
Easy and Reliable
I had to buy this in the middle of night when our regular thermometer stopped working. Its a great product especially with kids and knowing that ear based thermometer can be unreliable. The only drawback is the usage instructions are not very clear and need some time to master...but once you know the device usage its a charm and gives reliable readings.0 users found this review helpful.
